2024 Boat Raffle Rules

West Rainy River District Lions Club (WRRD)

SIDE-BY-SIDE RAFFLE – RULES OF PLAY

This raffle is conducted by the West Rainy River District Lions Club (WRRD) under Ontario Lottery Licence #M796635, issued by the Township of Morley and regulated by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).

1. Tickets

A maximum of 5,000 tickets will be sold at $20 per ticket.

2. Draw Dates and Locations

  • Early Bird Draw
    Prize: 2-day, 3-night all-inclusive fishing trip
    Date: September 19 at 7:00 PM
    Location: Stratton Recreation Center
    The draw will also be broadcast live at the Rainy River Walleye Tournament (RRWT).
  • Main Draw
    Prize: Yamaha Wolverine X2 side-by-side including hard cab, heater, winch and trailer
    Date: November 7 at 9:00 PM
    Location: Lions Club Hunters Supper

3. Ticket Sales Deadlines

  • Early Bird Draw
    Online sales close September 16 at 12:00 PM
    In-person sales close September 19 at 6:30 PM at the RRWT tent
  • Main Draw
    Online sales close November 4 at 12:00 PM
    Final ticket sales close November 7 at 8:55 PM at the Hunters Supper

4. Payment

Only tickets that have been fully paid for and verified are eligible for the draw.

Accepted payment methods include cash, cheque, and electronic transfer.

5. Prizes

Prizes must be accepted as awarded.

The licensee reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if necessary.

Prizes cannot be exchanged for cash and the winner may not request substitutions, refunds, or returns.

6. Winner Notification

Winners do not have to be present to win.

Winners will be notified using the contact information provided on the ticket stub.

Winning names may be published on social media, newspapers, radio and the WRRD website.

By purchasing a ticket, the purchaser consents to the publication of their name and photograph for promotional purposes.

7. Age Requirement

Ticket purchasers and prize winners must be 18 years of age or older.

Tickets may not be purchased by or on behalf of anyone under the age of 18.

8. Ticket Sales Location

Tickets may only be sold to individuals physically located in Ontario at the time of purchase.

Residents of other provinces or countries may purchase tickets while they are physically present in Ontario.

9. Eligibility

Members, executives and employees of the West Rainy River District Lions Club, and their immediate family members residing in the same household, may purchase tickets and are eligible to win except those directly involved in the conduct and management of the raffle.

10. Ineligible Participants

The following individuals are not eligible to purchase tickets or win prizes:

  • Designated members-in-charge
  • Individuals directly involved in the management or conduct of the raffle
  • Prize donors

11. Conduct of the Draw

The draw will be conducted using a rotating draw drum containing all eligible ticket stubs.

A ticket will be randomly selected by Telford Advent and an audience participant who is 18 years of age or older.

Winning tickets will be returned to the drum and remain eligible for subsequent draws if applicable.

12. Prize Pickup

Prizes will be awarded to the name listed on the ticket stub.

Winners are responsible for arranging pickup of the prize.

The WRRD Lions Club is not responsible for delivery, transportation or insurance once the prize has been awarded.

13. Prize Value

Prize values listed represent the approximate retail value at the time the raffle licence application was submitted. $44,000.00

Actual market value may vary due to economic or market fluctuations. Neither the winner nor the licensee is entitled to any difference in value.

14. Reporting Requirements

Contact information for prize winners will be provided to the licensing authority as required.

15. Unclaimed Prizes

Any prize not claimed will be held for six months from the date of the draw.

Reasonable efforts will be made to contact the winner including telephone contact, registered letter and public notice in local media if required.

If the prize remains unclaimed after six months it will be dealt with in accordance with AGCO lottery licensing regulations.

16. Members Responsible for Conduct of the Raffle

The following two bona fide members of the WRRD Lions Club are responsible for the conduct and management of this raffle:

This raffle is licensed by the Township of Morley and is subject to regulations set by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
